The scarf is lightweight but surprisingly it keeps your neck warm. It's not totally sheer but more silk-like. Was afraid it would be a hair too gaudy when seeing it up close but on the contrary, it's totally stylish. Important when considering scarves is the length and width. This is the perfect length. I have an average length torso and while just sitting on the back of my neck it comes down to my pelvis. It is also wide enough that you feel like your entire neck is covered. It was such a great buy! Highly recommend.
