THE DRESS WAS BEAUTIFUL AND FOR A YOUNGER PERSON THIS WOULD BE PERFECT. I LOVED THIS DRESS AND HATED TO SEND IT BACK. I ORDERED A SIZE 14 BECAUSE THAT WAS WHAT WAS LEFT. I WEAR A 12 AND THIS JUST FIT ME SO IT RUNS A LITTLE SMALL. THE MATERIAL WAS TOP NOTCH AND THE DESIGN WAS JUST SO PERFECT. I WOULD SAY ANYONE WHO IS UNDER MAYBE 40 TO GET THIS DRESS BECAUSE IT IS A SHOW STOPPER.

Ordered a size 14, my usual size, it was really tight.. when the description says "skims your curves", they're not kidding, it was more like a "bear hug"! Trying to zip up the side seam zipper under the left arm was even trickier and once zipped, the seams in the bust and waist area seemed a bit skewed and pulled to the left where the zipper was. Almost as if the pieces were sewn a bit off kilter. It was a beautiful dress.. very elegant and truly vintage style, but the fit was small.. I'd order a size up especailly if you have a bust bigger than a C cup! I returned it and opted for Chadwicks Chocolate Georgette & Beaded gown with matching shawlcollared jacket.

I bought the dress to wear to a black tie grand opening event. It is a beautiful dress. There were only 2 sizes left on clearance and I decided to give it a try. I am trying to lose a bit of baby belly and it doesn't hide it. I am going to look around for something that fits better but am keeping this because I have been looking and haven't found something I like better because it is so pretty. I may try to find a Spanx that holds "you" in place. The silk under color is a little shocking. It is amazing what the black does to it.

Despite reading the other reviews, I ordered this dress hoping for the best. I wear a 10 and ordered a 12. It wasn't so much the fit as the cut of the dress that was wrong. It is obviously for someone very young because there is no waistline and the dress was extremely unflattering with an extremely plunging neckline. The fabric and details are gorgeous so for the exact right figure, this dress would be amazing. Just not amazing on me!

The dress is really beautiful. The material and beading are very elegant. Size 12 was the only one available in clearance, I usually wear a 9/10 so its a little large, especially in the waist, but a black satin ribbon belt will fix that. I highly recommend this dress for any special occasion.

I love this dress! Small in the bust area...so doesn't work if you are busty, but absolutely gorgeous dress! I haven't figured out how to make the top fit better, so I might have to return it, but having a hard time sending it back since it's so pretty.

I bought this gown to wear to my son's wedding in September and deliberately bought it too small as an incentive to get into shape before the event. It is exactly what I was looking for--not the typical "mother of the groom, with cheesy lace and jacket" look. I love vintage clothes and the wedding has a bit of a vintage aspect to it, so it's just what I wanted, and I've already lost a dress size to make sure I can wear it!

The dress is a very flattering design and fit
beatiful color and different looking--very hard to care for since you cannot dry clean or wash
It looks expensive and was not--I was so afraid of it not wearing well - not cleanable that I bought a second one on sale

The cons, as follows:
1 - If you're short, this can't be altered due to the beaded hem. A Petite length would have been much preferred.
2 - Due to the length of the side zipper, it tends to pull a bit across the midsection.
Overall, this is a beautiful gown!

The dress is top quality, the lining color enhances the black beading beautifully. Only problem is the dress runs very small, I normally wear a 14W and bought a size 16 which to my disappointment does not fit. I am showing it around to see if anyone wants to purchase it before sending it back, as I have paid so much more for evening dresses not half as nice as this one. This dress would cost much more in New Jersey and New York.

I AM A SIZE 7/8...BUT SINCE THE DRESS IS ON CLEARANCE, I PURCHASED THE SMALLEST SIZE WHICH IS A 12..WILLING TO ALTER IT IF I LIKED IT!..BUT..WHEN I TRIED ON THE DRESS..I WAS IMPRESSED!
IT CLINGS TO YOUR BODY TASTEFULLY..AND IT ADJUSTED TO MY SIZE.. WITH MAYBE VERY MINOR ALTERATIONS..SUCH AS ARM STRAP AREA..IT REMINDS ME OF THE 1920'S...THE COLOR IS BEAUTIFUL ..I'D CALL IT AN EMERALD CLASSIC,SEXY ANTIQUE LOOK!

This product fit like a glove and contoured to my curves. It was a beautiful, comfortable, well fitting dress. It looked much more expensive than it actually cost. It also floated when I walked.

This dress is amazing. I bought it to wear to my senior prom. It reminds me of a modern version of the 1920's flapper dress. It fits really well and i'm really pleased with it.

My niece wore this dress for her Junior Prom and felt like a princess! Since we live in a small town and have to drive over an hour and a half to the nearest "big" town, we were limited on what and where to buy. Everybody asks where we got it and I tell them online through Chadwicks. They are very surprised.

Dress seems to pull and twist. Not for a busty woman. Dress was too short - was not 41" from MY waist.

This dress must be seen to believe how beautiful it is. The picture doesn't do it justice. The beading is exquisite and it fits like a dream. I am taking it on a cruise to wear on one of the formal nights. I can't wait to wear it!!!!
