This was one of my first Chadwick's purchases and I did not realize how small everything runs. I bought the dress in white in size 8. Overall, the dress is lovely, the length is nice, it is a nice quality silk, however, as other reviewers have mentioned, even though it is lined, it is still quite sheer. It was very wrinkled and the hem was soiled when I received it. I do plan to reorder but 2 sizes up. I will have to look for the right undergarments, but the I think the dress is worth it. It is truly ivory and not bright white, which is what I wanted. I am considering this and other Chadwicks white/ivory dresses for my second wedding where I want to be more causal and low -key. Also, some halter dresses are too low cut -not the case with this one. Still sexy, but classy.

Nice dress. Cut a bit low so if you are "big" this will definitely show cleavage. There is an elastic on the back right at the bra line that I would prefer was not there but it's not bad. Be prepared to wear hose or other undergarment cause this one is cut close. Looks very sexy on.

I was disappointed in the color of this dress. I was expecting a vibrant, cobalt blue, but it looked purple.

Fit very nice, if you have the right body, (which I don't, it showed off a little more then I wanted to, a little too much hips) but not the right color for what I needed it for. It was more purple then blue.

I returned the dress because I did not like the color or the way it fit. It didn't look at all like the picture. It was supposed to be silver but was a dark bland gray color.

I bought this for my sister's wedding (outdoor, classy but informal, no wedding party) Labor Day weekend in the mid Atlantic region. I figured it would be comfortable and suitably dressy without looking like a bridesmaid.
After reading the other reviews I was afraid this dress would be a poor fit (people commenting it runs small, especially in the waist and I knew I had a large waist).
I'm 33 x 28 x 38 and ordered a size 4 which should fit a 33-33.5 x 24.5-25 x 35-35.5. Hopefully this inch by inch comparison will help others judge size.
* It fit large in the chest (when it should have fit perfect)
* It fit about right in the waist (when it should have fit small)
* It fit a little bit big in the low hips (when it should have fit small).
Zipper: Doesn't lie flat on the side seam, but that's hard to do with such a fine fabric as silk
Back: The back of the dress has elestic along the top seam, but its a bit baggy and droopy. Nothing a little dress tape won't fix.
Color: The "midnight blue" color is a bit more purplish than anticipated, but I like it all the same.
Lets face it, virtually no one has the exact proportions for one particular size. To get a dress that fits perfectly off the rack is incredibly lucky, so you learn a few tricks to help things along. With a little padding up top and some dress tape to hold things in place, this dress should be stunning on me.

I ordered this dress for my wedding dress, when I received it I loved it until I put it on, it was fully lined but even so it was still extremly thin and you could still see thru it. I returned the item due to this reason.

Fabric is stiff and does not 'flow'. Sized properly in waist but runs small in top and hips. Wrinkles easily.

This is a lovely dress. It's a little snug, but I think a size up would be too big and I want it to fit well. Because it is white, I will need to wear the right underpinings so nothing will show through. I am happy with the dress.

I bought this beautiful dress to wear as the "Mother of the Bride" at my daughter's upcoming summer wedding. I was so pleased when it arrived, fitting perfectly. It not only fits, but is truly comfortable, and looks great. Thank you!

It looks great on the pics on the internet, however it fails to mention that it is very thin.
