I've searched in vain for fully lined WARM wool winter slacks such as the JG Hook line that Chadwicks used to sell. It's impossible to find them anywhere. I was hoping these slacks would be the warm wool, but they're not, just lightweight. Considered sending them back, but it's too much of a hassle. I'll just keep them and wear them, but not as often as I would have if they'd been true wool slacks.

I ordered these pants because they were described as "warm wool flannel" with a traditional "above the waist" rise. When they arrived, I could see that the zipper was shorter than a traditional rise and the fabric was thin- more of a crepe than a flannel. The rise was indeed too short. I returned the garment and sent an e-mail suggesting that the description be changed, but it wasn't.

The description said "traditional fit, sits above the waist," but these J. G. Hook pants had a lower rise and were cut a little smaller than the Chadwick's brand size 12 pants I previously ordered, and which fit well. The zipper was also the shorter length, which appears on lower-rise pants. It was a shame, because the wool material itself was nice and warm and good quality, but the fit was not roomy enough. However, they fit my mother, who takes a smaller size, so I gave the pants to her, rather than returning them for a refund.

These versitle flannel trousers are a good value for the money. Great for the office and leisure; have them in both black and grey. The dye in the grey trousers seems unevenly distributed, but otherwise are an excellent buy.
