Overall I like the pants. Previous side zip pants I purchased were labeled "Chadwicks". The material was softer, and the fit more comfortable. The recent side zip pants are labeled "J.G. Hook". The material seems cheaper (harsher). And the rise is very short. I have a very short rise, and this is almost too short for me. So they seem to be oddly made. I purchased 4 or 5 pairs now, and they are all slightly too short in the rise. The waist is a bit large. Otherwise ok.

The first 2 pair I bought were great. The brown stripe (third pair) were of a different material and the zipper would not go all the way to the top, on or off of me. Yet I still bought 3 more. I have not worn them yet but they feel like the better material, but we will see. I may have to return the brown stripe pair.

I sent the pants back. I did not like the fabric of either pair. One was scratchy, and did not feel comfortable. The other one's fabric seemed different from what was in the catalog. The fabric looked like linen, which I do not wear. Linen always looks like it needs to be ironed, almost like you slept in the garment.

I ordered the same fabric blend, same product, different colors. They fit differently. One was almost a size smaller. Poly blend is nice and when the fit is right, very comfortable with good style. I ordered the wool blend in a size larger (suggested in product reviews) and that was good advice.

I ordered 2 pair of these slacks in different colors. The tan pair fit differently than the aqua pair of slacks. The tan pair is too large through the hips and is too long about 4 inches) for a petite size 4. The aqua pair fit much better in the waist and hips but was still about 4 inches too long. I am 4'11" so I often have to hem slacks but not usually 4 inches.

Last fall I ordered 2 pr similar style in wool and wore them all winter. When I saw these for spring/summer I was thrilled. However this style in the same size 4 that I got last fall were way to tight so I returned them for size 6. The two replacement pairs came [...] and the first one was again waaaaay too tight. But the second replacement size 6 was perfect. The pair that finally fits is wonderful and I will probably wear them all summer.

I have a few pair of these pants (petite)in the solid colors and they are wonderful. True to size, soft and the most comfy pants I own. I just bought the Navy Plaid pants and they are too small, too short, scratchy, very poor quality. I just returned them. Stick with the solid colors. You won't be sorry. Zipper can be stubborn, too.

The pants quality is nice, but the zipper quality is horrible. I have only worn each pair one time and I will probably either return or just throw them away. I am afraid to wear them again for fear of the zipper breaking or getting stuck.
