This dress does not have a slimming affect. The wide elastic comes up over the hips and balloons out thereby giving the hips a much wider impression. The black looked washed out and drab. I sent it back.

I love the feel of this dress. It's lightweight, breathable, and a rather flattering color. The wide elastic waist mixed with the high neckline is somewhat more matronly than what I was expecting, but I think if I dress it up with earrings and heals it will be a nice casual cocktail dress and good for teaching in.

The dress hung in all the wrong places. The fabric was very thin and showed what I didn't want it to. The bust was huge, the tie was too long, and the waist was all wrong.

The waist is very flattering on this dress, but the tie neck looked very matronly and out-dated on me, as opposed to looking "retro"! It might be cute on someone young, thin and trendy though.
