I purchased the dress for my daughters wedding. The length is great. I can wear heals for the wedding and a more comfortable sandal for the reception. The dress is beautiful, but it is several shades darker than it appears on-line. It is very wide under the arms and appears to gap out a bit. I will have to take it in on both sides under the arms. The thin shoulder straps don't do a thing for the dress. I slipped the thin straps off and tucked them in, the dress looks better strapless which is the way I will wear it. I don't think the shoulder pads are necessary for the jacket. They really weigh it down. Overall, I spent many hours on-line searching for the perfect dress in many price ranges. I'm glad I found this one. Just one question, I found a tremendous number of BLACK dresses for "Mother of the Bride", maybe I'm out of touch, but when did a BLACK dress become okay for a daughter's wedding?

I bought this dress in a size larger than my usual because I wanted to have it tailored well for a special family dinner, and figured this would ensure an optimal fit. It was slightly too tight but more than that it just didn't fit right. The sleeves were too long and if I had them shortened, I would have lost some of the pretty beading. Will send it back!
