When reading the description, I knew that it was a shirred waist and it would have a bit of extra room in that area. Yes, it does, but not excessively like some contemporary styles that look nice, but fit like maternity clothing. I love the comfort of wearing it, didn't need to worry about covering bra straps or strapless. It is an attractive print. I enjoy this dress, think it is a great choice and recommend it to others that know their body shape and what styles are flattering and what are not.

the amber jewles are very cheep, and they were not centered on the dress. I had one fall off the first time I wear it, but I love everything else about the dress. I can fix jewles myself.

This is ill-fitting. It's too low cut, the jewel waistline is crooked and it balloons out to make me look as big as a house. It's comfie enough to wear in the house, but it's a disaster any other way.

I was really looking forward to taking this dress on my honeymoon and was very disappointed with the quality and the "odd" fit once it arrived. Also, the ribbon isn't very long to be able to actually tie into a decent bow in the back.

I used to have a maxi dress in the 70's, so was delighted to find this! I wore this to a "prom night" event at my campground and will probably wear it to evening poolside parties there. I'm big on top, so the smocking makes for a very forgiving fit. The dress washes and dries nicely, especially if you make sure to remove it from the dryer promptly. The amber colored "jewels" are actually sewn-on buttons, so they won't fall off in the laundry. Only minor problem is the tie sash, which I might choose to skip altogether next time I wear this. It tends to bunch up and wrinkle.

I loved this dress in the catalog and when I seen it online, but when I ordered it and put it on it did not fit well and looked even worse. I actually ordered a size bigger than what I usually wear because I am quite large in the bust area, and it still didn't fit me in the bust at all. I was very disappointed in the dress all in all.

The dress is beautiful in the picture but it just not flattering! I feel a little frumpy in the dress. I got a Petite and its still very long! Im a size 4 or 6 - I got the size 4 and it still feels too big. I certainly didnt lose weight! :)

The biggest problem here is the neckline. It isn't cut to lay flat at the V in the neck. I'm going to ask a tailor if it can be fixed. If not, I'll send it back. Also, the empire waist is a nice idea, but the skirt of the dress needs to be drapey to pull that off. This dress balloons out making one look pregnant. I will still buy from Chadwicks. This is the first time I've ever been disappointed.

The dress I received did not look anything like the picture displayed on the website. Even my co-workers took a look at the picture and was surprised when they saw the actual dress. It looked alot more elegant on the website but on receiving it, it looked like a frock.
