Better than I expected
I was concerned about the weight of the fabric at this price point, but it's a good sturdy material with a slightly silky feel. The bodice is form-fitting but with an empire waist it favors those of us who have grown a tad stout in our later years. Very slimming, and the ruby is a very rich color. I'm going to order the teal next.
PERFECT FIT AND CLASSIC STYLING
Quality material, quality construction, flattering fit, and classic styling are sure to make this a go-to in my closet for years to come! It will also be versatile--I see the ability to dress it up or down depending on occasion. It does cover a multitude of sins, although if you have a bit of a "tummy", you might look pregnant due to the pleated under-bust, but if you don't (or can suck it in sufficiently) it's a must-have!
Like the Fabric
Back in the day, Chadwicks used to have nice cotton knit dresses. Lately, almost everything has been polyster/rayon/spandex (yuck). I was happy to see this dress. It's 95% cotton and 5% spandex, and reminds me of the old styles that I used to be able to find at Chadwicks. It hangs nicely. I hope they bring out more dresses in cotton or mostly cotton blends. I got this in olive which is a nice medium olive color. I like lighter colors (don't look good in black or dark colors) so I hope they bring this or similar out in more colors.

Disappointed-ugly in back
So disappointed. Fit in bust & shoulders is comfortable, but back seems made for hunchbacks. Lots of ugly rolls between shoulder blades and waist and a bump above butt. Also, would prefer this in long sleeve, not 3/4. 3/4 sleeves only look good in proportion with tops or blazers no longer than widest part of hips. Dresses and longer tops look much better with long sleeves pulled up to just above wrist, that are tight or a rolled up cuff. A straight hemmed 3/4 sleeve looks odd.
LOVE IT !
Love it, love it, love it! I have 3 of it's "summer cousins" that I wore all through Europe last summer, and they travel and pack beautifully. This cooler weather version is just as awesome. Wear it alone, or dressed up with a dramatic scarf. The flattering cut and material is even nicer than the summer model. Keep up the good work. This is a CLASSIC!

Chadwicks really should present back view photos as well as front. I assumed the pleats went all the way around, but they do not. The dress falls away beautifully in front but due to the stretchy fabric the back fits very close to the body and accentuates everything I'd rather not accentuate. It's going back. This fabric is about the same as a pair of mid-weight leggings.
